Obtuse is a single hop golden session ale using a secret blend of hops from the masters at Simply Hops. I’m  not even allowed to tell you what they are because Phil Lowry will kill me. Of course, the name is on the real pumpclips so you’ll have to order some to find out. Expect masses of apricot, orange and bramble.

Malt: Pale, Oats, Carapils

Hops: Y***** S**

EBC: 10 IBU: 44

Status: Available 14/11/16

Hoope is a single hop golden ale using the Japanese hop Toyomidori which is currently being grown in Kent on a trial basis. Experts say it gives hints of pineapple but we’ll let you be the judge of that.

Malt: Pale, Oats, Carapils

Hops: Toyomidori

EBC: 10 IBU: 48

Status: In Stock

Reversion was my homage to two great beers – Crouch Vale “Brewers Gold” and Pictish “Brewers Gold”. Two of my favourite beers and I’m always pleased when I see them on the bar.

Malt: Pale

Hops: Magnum, Brewers Gold

EBC: 6 IBU: 25

Conclusion is our take on a rich silky dark beer. Careful choice of malts imparts a rich dark beer with notes of figs, raisins and dark chocolate. Bitter, yet sweet.

Hops: Bramling Cross

EBC: 35 IBU: 35

Status: Available 07/11/16

Older Beers

Glider is a single hop beer made with the German variety Herkules. Brewed to be a traditional blonde ale (although how traditional a beer style originating in the 1980s can be I have no idea) there’s delicate hints of woodland fruits.

Malt: Pale

Hops: Herkules

EBC: 10 IBU: 31

Status: Retired

Taid’s Garden is a resurrection from the archives of Pene Coles, formally of the Jolly Brewer and arguable the Godmother of Wrexham microbrewing. This beer is not meant to be a hop bomb but delicate and refreshing, harking back to the time before the word craft had even come into common use. This was one of James’s favourite beers ten years ago.

Malt: Pale, Lager, Wheat

Hops: Fuggles, Goldings, Hallertau

EBC: 10 IBU: 31

Status: Retired

Induction is a golden session IPA. Low alchol but with a plump body, this is the perfect all day drinking beer.

Malt: Pale, Carapils, Oats

Hops: Cascade, Citra, Topaz

EBC: 6 IBU: 40

Status: Retired

New Dawn was the quintessential golden session beer. Light in body, a juicy fresh hoppiess from a combination of German and American hops. Due to the hop shortage I currently can’t make this beer; I’d hoped to have it as part of my core range – but it will be back.

Malt: Pale

Hops: Magnum, Cascade, Hallertau Hersbrucker, Citra

EBC: 6 IBU: 35
